July summer seminars and guest lectures
The summer seminars continued in July with same vigor as we started. In addition to the Math and Science subjects we also covered several current events.
In seminars included presentation on the topic for about half an hour. There were break outs sessions for students in smaller groups to discuss the questions and work on smaller problems on the topic. Then the entire group came through to have an interactive quiz online.
Some of the topics covered in July were
- Virus (Corona)
- Brain
- Math – Decimals
- Physics – properties of matter
- Current events
- Jeopardy
We also had a guest speaker who came in to talk about COVID and educate all of us about the virus. We also included an interactive quiz on this topic. This was very well attended!
